This Is How It Starts: a you-portrait

This family of four are clearly visitors to my town of Santa Fonda, California. They speak English with the loveliest inflection, which inflection I am unable to place. I don’t think they’re Scandinavian and I don’t think they’re Dutch. Beautiful, beautiful! speech. Father’s haircut is rendered with amazing precision; I wonder if they’re German.

    1. Oh, I know, and I know from my reception of the teachings of others, and from personal experience too. Some beautiful inflections are more beautiful than other beautiful inflections. Did I mention that I’d been ogling the handsome, physically fit father and that the mother (wife) seemed to catch me up in that. Caught me with a look, maybe.
